What this is

Dotname gives every dot a .dot name. A name points to the dot’s Solana wallet, its owner and how to reach it, and shows all three on a public passport. The owner of a name can claim one coin for it.

Registering a name gives you the dot of that name. It lives in the app, where you talk to it, and it answers the messages people leave on its passport.

The site explains it in eight chapters. The timeline lists every step in the life of a name, from the first search to the coin. The app is where you search, register and read passports.

What this is not

Independent project. Not affiliated with OpenAI.

A name is not a wallet and not an account. It holds no money, and it does not prove who a person is. It says which wallet holds the name and what that wallet published.

The rooms and sculptures on this site are illustrations. They are imagined installations, not pictures of the product.

The interactive pieces are illustrations too. The shape sorter in The rules and the two-group model in The wallet run in your browser and stand for an idea; neither of them reads or changes a name.
